Yes. Every star map is drawn from a database of millions of stars in ESA's Hipparcos and Gaia catalogues, the same authoritative data professional astronomers use worldwide. Every star visible to the naked eye at your exact date, time and place is plotted individually. No templates, no stock images, just the true night sky.How our star maps are calculated
Our star maps are printed in ultra-high detail on 285gsm Museum Grade art cardstock using archival pigment inks. Every print is covered by our Lifetime Guarantee against fading and print faults, so your star map is made to last a lifetime. We are confident you will love your print. If not, contact us within 100 days of purchase and return it in its original condition for a refund, even if it is personalised.
Five sizes, from A4 (21x30cm) up to 60x80cm, available framed in a premium wooden frame or unframed.
Yes. We can calculate the night sky for any date, past or future, so you can capture a memory or a moment still to come.
Every star map needs a time to calculate the exact sky. If you are not sure of the time, we default to midnight. Printing the time on your star map is optional, so you can show just the date if you prefer.
Annotations add three short facts either side of the small print. On the left: the day of the week, the star sign of your date and how many constellations are in your sky. In the middle, as always: your title, place, date and coordinates. On the right: the brightest planet in your sky (or the nearest planet, if none are up), the brightest star, and the Max Magnitude. Max Magnitude tells you how faint the faintest stars on your print are. The bigger the number, the more faint stars we include, so bigger prints show more: 6.8 on A4 and 30x40cm, rising to 7.3 on 60x80cm.
Labels writes the name of each constellation in your sky beside its stars. Add Constellations too if you would like fine lines joining up their stars.
